Paper Towns — Trailer Reaction/Review

EDIT: Read my review of the film itself here.

The first thing you have to realize is that this is one of those movies that’s going to make a solid profit regardless of whether or not it’s well received. The novel it’s based on and its author have enough fans (myself included) that will see it, if for no other reason except curiosity. With that being said, the first trailer for Paper Towns didn’t get me as excited as such previews are designed to do. It looks like a decently made film, and stars Nat Wolff and Cara Delevigne seem to have solid chemistry, but there’s no particular aspect that pops for me, and it all seems very uniform and to-its-kind. For what it’s worth, I liked the book.

But, as with all trailers, I’ll withhold judgment until I see the feature itself. Perhaps, for the first time in recent history, a preview has actually left a film’s best moments unspoiled?
